about michelle

Michelle McClintock is a Registered Psychologist with post-graduate qualifications in Counselling (QUT) and 10 years of advanced training in psychotherapy. Michelle possesses a wealth of professional experience including positions with Queensland Police, Queensland Health, Queensland AIDS Council (now QAHC) and Kids Help Line. In her 18 year career, Michelle has enjoyed working with people from all walks of life. She is trained and experienced in assisting with a diverse range of health concerns, both personal and professional.

For more than 7 years, Michelle operated a highly successful counselling psychology practice at indigoHouse, a centre for Holistic Medicine that was loved and respected within the Brisbane community. Michelle was involved in a leadership and coaching role at indigoHouse, training fellow practitioners in all aspects of establishing a private practice. From 2004 until 2006 she was involved at indigoHouse as a Clinic Director.  In late 2007, Michelle moved to Gecko House, after indigoHouse regrettably closed its doors. She remained here until 2009 before closing her Brisbane psychology clinic permanently.

In mid-2008, Michelle followed her long-term dream to move to Northern NSW and live closer to the beach and nature. She currently practices in Byron Bay. She works with individuals and those in relationships as a counsellor, assisting people to find their deepest nature through the problems that bring them to therapy. She is involved in running seminars and forums within the community to increase awareness and make psychology meaningful and accessible.

Michelle consults to organisations and businesses and has been approached by Government agencies, private organisations and small business leaders. She offers individual mentoring and coaching for professionals and business leaders and provides training programs, leadership seminars and facilitation of strategic meetings for teams and organisations. Michelle is passionate about making new ideas in psychology, health and leadership accessible to the general public and has written for numerous publications over the past 8 years. A collection of her articles are available here. She has been quoted in QMagazine and The Courier Mail; authored a regular health column in QNews for 6 years; contributes articles and forum responses to www.goodtherapy.com.au; and has been twice invited as a presenter on 4BC Talk Back Radio Program.
